The hotel is located in the northwest part of the Old City, within that historic square surrounded by a moat. This is both prestigious and convenient for tourists. Its main advantage, apart from all other benefits, happens to be near Wat Phra Singh- one of Northern Thailand’s most revered and beautiful temples (literally about three to five minutes’ walk from here). Another temple with a giant ruined stupa also lies within walking distance.

The most important weekly event-Sunday Walking Street market-takes place on Ratchadamnoen Road, just one block from the hotel. You can walk through the giant market, buy some souvenirs, eat street food, and be back in your room within five minutes when you get tired without looking for a tuk-tuk. On normal days, this area is quiet but has life; coffee shops serve great northern coffee here together with Thai massage salons and small restaurants serving 'Khao Soi'(the famous curry noodle soup).
