Getting to Hotel
Because of its landmark location near Wat Phra Singh, which every driver in the city knows, getting to De Charme Hotel is very convenient. If you are coming from Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX), note how close the airport hugs downtown-the ride barely takes about fifteen to twenty minutes depending on traffic flow into town that day. The least stressful way has to be by using one of those official airport taxis at exit gates with a fixed fare to Old City (about 150 THB most times). Alternatively, grab works perfectly well here too; both drivers and apps know exactly where pick-up points/hotels are so no need for any haggling over fares,
If you are coming in by land, the train and bus stations are located further out of the eastern side of the city, outside the moat. It will take between 20 and 30 minutes to get from either station to the hotel. This is also where you catch an almost compulsory ride on a "songthaew" or Red Truck-these shared taxis carry both locals and tourists; negotiate your fare for a private drop-off right at the hotel lobby or share with others going into Old City for much less. Once inside Cheeva Dee Hotel, motorized transport will hardly be necessary since most parts within Old City's best areas can easily be walked through.
