Guest Tips
Try to get a room on the third or fourth floor, facing either the swimming pool or city skyline. The ground floor rooms are nice for easy access to the pool but lack privacy since other guests always pass by when going for breakfast or heading to the pool. Upper floors would also be better because they distance you from reception and street noise at night through wooden floors and doors that easily transmit sound; an aspect many people might not think about until it's too late. Selection of room has been very important in staying satisfied with this proprety.
Another common observation of Western travelers in Thailand is firm mattresses. De Charme does not break this cultural rule. The beds are quite hard. If you are a side sleeper or just prefer softness, do not wait until checking out to write about it in your review; call housekeeping as soon as you arrive. They have become used to this request from international guests and will most likely place an extra thick comforter or mattress topper under your sheets. Also, use the hotel's location for Sunday Walking Street market against it being fully booked every weekend – since you're just one block away, try beginning your market walk around 5:00 PM (tactical timing allows browsing/buying food before crushing crowds arrive around 7:00 PM).
